Youth Music
The problem we are addressing is lack of access to music education and lack of access to musical instruments in our youth.
In recent years music programs in our schools have been cut back or eliminated. Some families cannot afford musical instruments or music lessons. Yet music has been shown to be transformative in the lives of those youth who participate in music. Youth who participate in music programs have higher grades, better focus at school, better self-esteem and they are less likely to fall into bad habits during this crucial time of their lives. This translates to better situations in their families and hopefully could result in better benefits to the society in general as they become adults themselves.
The Wells Charitable Foundation supports several 501(c) charities whose mission is to fill the gaps that exist today in the area of youth music programs.
